BARDS PULL 7 CLEAR OF RELEGATION ZONE AFTER IMPRESSIVE WIN

Another splendid performance from the Bards saw Stratford rise to 14th place, 7 points clear of the relegation zone. One more victory from the remaining three fixtures and step 3 status is secure.

Bards started on the front foot and went ahead after 13 minutes when Kyle Bennett fired in after a cross/shot was parried after good work by Molyneux down the wing. Bards continued to dominate the first half and again the defence held firm restricting the visitors to 1 effort off target

Mickleover came into it after half time and equalised after an hour with a low shot into the corner. Bards had 2 efforts cleared off the line including a lob from Kyle Bennett when clean through but did manage to go back into the lead after 80 when Dan Lafferty, moved into midfield, slotted home from a tight angle after the referee played advantage.

Bards then held out for the last 10 minutes with the defence in excellent form again. A special mention to the match official who was consistent and allowed the game to flow aiding another fine match to watch

We‘ll see you for the home game against current leaders Coalville on Saturday – followed by the Player of the Season awards.

At home games, we’ll be in our usual spot by the Tuck Shop selling our 50 / 50 tickets (average prize this year around £70), the excellent revamped programme, hats and scarves and will have membership forms with us if supporters would like to join on the day – it only costs £10 for adults a year. This year purchasers of 50 / 50 tickets are able to claim 10% off Car Servicing and have MOT’s for just £40 at Arden Garages when they present their ticket. Arden Garages have also helped to fund the cost of printing the tickets saving the The Supporters Association money.
