“When we went in front I felt we were on top and I felt that to score first was probably what our dressing room needed, but then we made individual mistakes and the ball twice ended up in our net” was the reaction of a frustrated Paul Davis afterwards.
“Those mistakes can’t keep happening so I’ve got to make more changes because if you make mistakes against good teams they will score and that’s what happened here.
If we hadn’t made those mistakes we would have won the game 1-0.
But overall I don’t think that we played that badly and my message to the players is that if we can repeat that performance against Redditch on Tuesday we’ll win.
My problem is that we played as well as that against Rushall and three days later at Needham Market we were horrific.
So the challenge for me is to pick the same team and the challenge for the players is to play to the standard they did here .
Stourbridge will be a top five team at the end of the season and we didn’t deserve to lose.
Did we do enough to win ? Not sure, but we certainly didn’t deserve to lose.”
