A beaming Thomas Baillie was full of praise for new striker Dan Creaney after his starring role in  the win over Halesowen.

“He was absolutely superb” was the reaction from the Town boss  ” he led the line well, held the ball up well and finished well.   People can see now what a good player he is ,and I’m delighted to have him.

We probably had the strongest squad we’ve had all season today, and I took the decision to leave Wilson Carvalho, Jimmy Fry and Lewis Wilson out of the starting line-up as I didn’t want to risk them getting injured ahead of Tuesday’s game at Rushden and Diamonds where we are already missing Jamie McAteer and Jordan Williams through suspension.

We haven’t lost two in a row since I’ve been here and I didn’t want to start today.   I knew Halesowen had watched us in midweek so they were probably surprised at our formation this afternoon and obviously it worked.

We know it will be tough on Tuesday at Rushden  but we will give it our best shot.  It is what it is and at the end of the day it’s only one game.”
