Baillie – “We weren’t creative enough”

“It was a difficult game which was both disappointing and frustrating” admitted  Town boss Thomas Baillie after seeing his side battle out a goal-less stalemate against St Ives.

“We were fortunate to get the game on with so many others being called off, but we didn’t make the most of being able to play.  St Ives defended doggedly throughout putting men behind the ball and we didn’t have the creativity to break them down.

There was not a great deal in it, but their keeper made a great save from Nabil Shariff near the end while I don’t recall Ross Etheridge ever being seriously tested.

But we have to realise that supporters’ expectations are higher than they were as we have progressed up the table into the play-off spots, and we have to rise to the challenge of meeting those enhanced expectations in every game.

Today I felt that we let ourselves down a bit in that respect.”
