“It wasn’t the best of games but we got there in the end” admitted Town boss Thomas Baillie after seeing his side complete the seasonal double over the Reds,
“I didn’t think that they caused us any problems apart of course from when they hit the bar. I never though that we were going to lose, and once we went ahead I felt it was game over.”
A little bit of quality from Ross Oulton was decisive and he was outstanding this afternoon. In fact he ran the game.
I must also mention Lewis Wilson who I feel is on the end of some unfair criticism. He does a valued job for the team which is often un-noticed, but he covers a tremendous amount of ground in every game and Chris Cox would not be able to get forward to such good effect if Lewis wasn’t there to cover for him.
So I was particularly pleased that he was in the right place to score what proved to be the winner.
After today’s results we are now better placed than we were before kick off and gaps are beginning to appear between teams below us. I don’t think we have a realistic chance of winning the League but we could possibly get second if results go our way.
But our aim is simply to be in the play-offs and we are on course to achieve that as long as we keep our concentration right to the end.”
