“It wasn’t the greatest of games but we were always the better side and did enough to win” reflected Thomas Baillie after Town’s second penalty shoot-out success of the season.
“We fielded a much changed line-up to give some players who have not had much game time recently the chance to impress me and prove me wrong.
We also tried some different formations so the pleasing thing is that we still won albeit in a shoot-out.
I felt that we could have won in normal time but on occasions we took too many touches instead of shooting when the opportunity first came along. Nevertheless we still had a number of decent goal attempts and were always the more threatening of the two teams.
Progress in this cup means another midweek fixture later on which is maybe not ideal, but we are now in the last eight and it keeps our current successful run going..”
