Moors youngster joins in time for Cambridge trip

Nineteen year old Solihull Moors midfielder Donnell Benjamin has joined Town on a three month loan from National League Solihull Moors. The former Aston Villa academy player is expected to be in the squad for tomorrow’s trip to Cambridgeshire. Two players missing for the clash at the Pro-Edge stadium will forwards Richard Gregory and Dior Angus. Angus serves the last of a three game suspension whilst Gregory serves the first game of his three match ban. Whilst manager Carl Adams has reduced attacking options, Jordan-Cullinane Liburd returns to bolster the defensive ranks after a one match suspension and Town have an otherwise fully fit squad to select from.

Alvechurch 1 Town Youth 1

Town continue  in top spot of the MFYL Premier Division South after coming from behind to secure a well deserved point at Lye Meadow.

Alvechurch scored direct from a free kick to lead at half time and had a chance to go two up from the penalty spot early in the second half but Town keeper Scott Martin pulled off a game changing save.

And Town went on to  grab the equaliser through leading scorer Dylan Parker’s 11th goal of the season.

Town 0 Weymouth 5

Town were overwhelmed by an impressive Weymouth side with the result never being in doubt after Chris Shephard scored twice for the Terras in the 17th and 20th minutes.

Dan Smith made it 3-0 on 59 minutes followed by substitute Sam Jordan adding two more in the 80th and 86th minutes with Town’s miserable afternoon being completed by Richard Gregory’s straight red card in between Jordan’s two strikes.

Coton Green 0 Town Youth 6

Town Youth powered to top spot in the MFYL Premier Division South as they once again overwhelmed Coton Green.  They had hit the Tamworth based side for six  at the DCS in their opening game of the season and did the same last night in the reverse fixture.

James Pomeroy and Dylan Parker  fired them into a 2-0 interval lead, and they really turned on the firepower in the second half with hotshot Parker hitting another three to take his individual tally to four and to ten for the season with Jamie Ford also on the mark from the penalty spot.

Adams bolsters options with Kalenda signing

With the recent departure of Emmit Delfouneso, Carl Adams has moved quickly to bolster his defensive and midfield options with the signing of 21 year old Jean Kalenda. Described as strong and athletic, 21 year old Congo born Kalenda is a central midfielder equally comfortable in central defence or at full back. Jean was a young professional at Birmingham City, before moving on to Stourbridge and A.F.C Hinckley. Kalenda has trained with Town in recent weeks and has clearly impressed boss Adams.
